Where German engineering excellence meets Singapore’s passion for learning: Empowering students to succeed in a digital world.
Hi there, coding kids! I’m Ben Ohms, and I’m thrilled to share my story with you. As a father of two young children in Singapore, I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of finding quality education services that cater to their unique needs and interests. But what struck me most was their insatiable curiosity and desire to learn. They’re always asking questions, seeking answers, and exploring the world around them. And that’s what inspired me to share my passion for coding and innovation with them in a fun and engaging way. I believe that learning should be an adventure, not a chore. So, I’m excited to share my knowledge and experience with you, and to help you discover the joy of coding and innovation.
My Journey in Aerospace and Coding
As an aerospace engineer with a passion for coding and innovation, I’ve had the privilege of working on some amazing projects around the world. From building and programming a robotic arm for the Australian Centre for Field Robotics’ Mars Rover to developing and launching a small satellite into orbit at the Space Center Baden-Wuerttemberg RZBW, I’ve had the chance to work on some truly out-of-this-world projects.
Amazing Companies
But it’s not just about the tech – it’s about the people and the companies I’ve worked with. I’ve worked at Bosch, one of Germany’s largest and most innovative companies. I’ve also worked at Daimler, the renowned manufacturer behind Mercedes. Additionally, I’ve worked at TESAT Spacecom, a leading provider of satellite communications and part of Airbus Space and Defense, where I was involved in the development of Laser Communication Terminals for satellites. And, of course, I’ve had the privilege of working with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), which is part of the European Space Agency (ESA).
Teaching and Innovating
As a teacher, I’ve also had the chance to share my knowledge with students at the University of Stuttgart. Here I taught physics and inspired the next generation of innovators. Furthermore, I’ve worked with RECARO, a leading manufacturer of high-performance seats, where I was in charge of engineering and complex in-service issues that required innovative thinking every day.
Ohm’s Law – Ω
By the way, I’m not related to Georg Ohm, the famous physicist who discovered the law of electrical resistance – also known as Ohm’s Law. But I do like to think that I’m a bit of a “resistance” to boring lectures – I’m always looking for ways to make programming more exciting and fun!
A Passion for Lifelong Learning
I’m a firm believer that lifelong learning is the key to success, and I’m living proof of that. I’m currently pursuing my doctorate, and I’m excited to be continuing my own educational journey. I believe that there’s always more to learn. And I’m committed to staying curious and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
